Dual Cannula Adapter

Tasks:   

• Design an interface between customer’s existing cartridge and a collection tube without removing the stopper


• Allow customer’s instrument to aspirate sample from the collection tube

Unique Features/Challenges:

• Implemented unique non-coring tip to prevent needle occlusion


• Customized needle and part design to allow for over-molding


• Design required one way valve with two functions: 1) Prevent backflow during collection tube insertion and 2) Allow venting during instrument aspiration


• Implemented low cost swaging assembly method of the one way valve
