Symbient Product Development, in collaboration with client FABPulous has designed and developed a rapid acute myocardial infraction (AMI) triage test.  We have been working hard to create a test that can be used by first responders to diagnose AMI in under 5 minutes, allowing for faster appropriate medical attention and ultimately, more lives saved.  The device utilizes plasma separation technology along with a lateral flow immunoassay to detect heart type fatty acid binding protein (HFABP), which is rapidly released into circulation after myocardial cell damage.  It can be used 3-18 hours after onset of symptoms and aims to improve the quality of care for these patients and reduce the logistic and financial burden for the healthcare system.  For more information, please contact Luke Helm, Director of Business Development at contact@symbientpd.com or 760-687-4030 ext. 2.
