Symbient has just completed the installation and qualification of our fourth Arburg injection molding machine. It’s unique for a product development company to offer this extensive injection molding capacity. Symbient operates two shifts of molding and assembly, which allows us to provide our customers with tens of thousands of assembled products for internal testing, clinical trials, and demo product. This addition is our second 55-ton vertical molding machine, which significantly expands our capacity to perform insert and over-molding. We moved into our current facility in 2018, and since then, we have expanded our manufacturing capacity and capabilities exponentially including:

  • 4 Haas CNC mills
  • 1 DMG MORI CNC mill for higher tolerances
  • 2 lathes
  • 4 Arburg molding machines (2 vertical and 2 horizontal)

Our goal is to serve as a bridge for our clients between development and the months it takes for a contract manufacturer to ramp up to high volume assembly. Our fabrication and assembly processes use the same production quality equipment used by high volume contract manufacturers. This allows us to iterate through the development challenges on molded parts before cutting high cost/long lead time tools.  Therefore, our development cycle is faster, the transition time to commercialization is significantly reduced, and the cost of iterating on an expensive steel tool is eliminated.  The addition of the new Arburg Injection Molder gives Symbient even more capacity to meet clients’ development and pilot production needs.
